Clarity are delighted to announce that our charity partner for 2023 will be the incredible Ronald McDonald House Charities - an organisation very close to our hearts.
After recognising the need for parents to be situated closely to their hospitalised child, the first Ronald McDonald House was opened in Philadelphia, USA, back in 1974. The organisation has grown exponentially, and now in 2023, just ahead of its 50th anniversary, the charity currently has over 380 houses in 64 countries - including, Ireland, the UK, and Portugal.
One of the toughest things a parent has to go through is seeing their child ill or injured in hospital, and this is only made more difficult when paired with long hours travelling, or spending large amounts of money in order to stay closer together. RMHC provides families with rooms, allowing them to stay close to whatever hospital their child is in. In Ireland, RMHC is situated on the grounds of Children’s Health Ireland in Crumlin, Dublin.
Since opening in Dublin back in 2004, RMHC have provided accommodation, care, and support for over 4,200 families across Ireland. The ‘home-away-from-home’ provided by RMHC allows families to focus on supporting one another, and spending time together during these difficult times.
We proudly provide over 12,000 meals a year to our families and collectively save them approximately €700,000 annually.
This year, we want to show our support to RMHC and help them in any way possible. As well as taking part in their fundraising events, we will also be hosting a number of our own, in order to raise as much money as possible through the year. These fundraisers will be held both internally and externally, allowing our clients and candidates to take part when possible. We will share our calendar of events in the coming weeks.
