What Is The Clarity Company Culture?

Company culture can be defined as a set of shared values, goals, attitudes and practices that characterise an organisation. It’s the way people feel about the work they do, the values they believe in, where they see the company going and what they’re doing to get it there. Collectively, these traits represent the personality — or culture — of an organisation.
Research published in the Harvard Business Review notes that the characteristics of a company emerge largely from how employees interact and how employees respond to change. Company culture is not solely: The core values. The perks and benefits. Or the benchmark by which all employees should be measured.

So, what then is company culture?

A successful company culture is one that is bought into by everyone from the newest hire to the directors. It’s living and breathing the core values. The job of the company is to make sure that every employee understands the expectations and acts accordingly. A truly great company culture is one that inherently promotes curiosity, respect, teamwork and employee health.

What is the Clarity Group's Culture?

A recent survey we completed internally focused on the following words to describe the Clarity Culture - Family Atmosphere, Inclusive, Motivational, Flexible, Fast paced, Challenging, Friendly, Transparent, Caring, Flexible, Fun, Positive, Welcoming, Hard Working, Motivational, Understanding, Communicative, Approachable, Collaborative and Supportive (mentioned 5 times!)


How do we at Clarity focus on improving and evolving our culture?

From 2022 we have put numerous initiatives in place to support our already underpinning core values and develop our company culture. For the last year we have focused on key areas such as:

newsletterInterdepartmental communication;

Our Brand Coordinator creates an Internal Newsletter every month to highlight all areas of the business and news both professionally and personally (which has been many people's highlight of the year)! We have monthly conference calls for the entire team where we get an update from our directors on business news/announcements and any other business.

Our work from home/office or anywhere policy;
We decided to leave it up to our staff to choose whatever they found to be a better option for themselves. This decision has also allowed us to hire all over Ireland, with team members in every province and some of our staff to relocate outside of Ireland but continue to work! We understand that productivity isn’t about where you are but what you do, which is why we’re happy for our employees to do what’s best for them.

Team Development & Wellbeing;
We always want our employees to get the most out of working at Clarity as they can, and allow them to attend events and take training courses that they think will benefit them. This year, some of the courses our staff have taken include Facebook Ads training, and the ERF Certificate in Recruitment Practice. We are proud to have supported 4 team members to complete this in 2022 and pass with excellent results from 82% to 98%! Our team also attends a monthly High Achievers programme to encourage stretch and growth on their targets and personal goals. We provide one to one individual coaching sessions for our management team on a weekly or needs basis. A private conversation away from directors or reports to ensure they have a safe space to speak about concerns, support and learning opportunities.
To further attend to our employees’ wellbeing, we’ve been working with an external agency to provide Stress Management seminars to our staff, to ensure that if stress arises our employees will know techniques to relieve it. We conduct regular reviews with our team, allowing them to discuss any issues they’ve been having so that we can assist them in the best way possible.

So what's next?

It is important to note that culture is ever changing and evolving and Clarity wants to stay at the forefront of this evolution! For 2023 we intend to evolve this even more. We launched a new page on our website to showcase Clarity’s Culture in 2022 and indeed moving forward. Excited that we have launched an event’s committee to oversee company initiatives for the year ahead. This is composed of a team member from every department within The Clarity Group.
