8:45 AM – The Black Coffee Ritual
The day begins with an essential black coffee—straight from the pot, no frills, just fuel. As the caffeine kicks in, I dive into my pipeline, responding to any urgent emails from candidates or clients. If something requires immediate attention, it’s tackled first. (Naturally, I’m sipping another coffee while writing this.)
9:30 AM - 11:00 AM – The Search Begins
With coffee in hand (again), I focus on sourcing. This means scouting for new roles, tracking down top candidates, and matching the right people to the right positions. Think of it as a matchmaking process—just with more CVs and fewer candlelit dinners. The job market has become increasingly competitive over the past year, making every placement more challenging—but that’s all part of the excitement.
11:00 AM - 1:00 PM – Live Role Updates & Market Insights
Late morning is spent updating live vacancies, reviewing job boards, and identifying new opportunities to pursue. Ensuring no stone is left unturned is key to keeping both clients and candidates ahead of the curve.
1:00 PM - Lunch Break (ft. Cooper, the Office Dog)
A well-earned hour of fresh air—weather permitting—where I either walk the dog or, on particularly enthusiastic days, he walks me. This midday reset is essential before heading back to the desk, but not before grabbing another coffee to power through the afternoon.
2:00 PM - Afternoon Strategy & Outreach
Afternoons vary. Some days are dedicated to catching up on emails and finalising candidate placements, while others focus on LinkedIn updates, database maintenance, and campaigns. Scheduling content for peak engagement times is crucial—Saturday posts are a goldmine, with Monday and Tuesday evenings also seeing strong responses.
4:30 PM - The Final Push
As the day winds down, I follow up on outstanding responses, check in with candidates, and ensure everything is in place for the following day. Recruitment is a fast-moving industry, and staying organised is essential.
